Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation SPF 20

Match Perfection foundation is a new addition to my drugstore foundations, and I’ve been using for the last 2 weeks. While Rimmel London has a range of foundations like Wake Me Up, Lasting Finish and Stay Matte  this one is good if you're looking for a foundation that closely mimics your skin's texture and tone.

The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser. It comes in a variety of eight shades ranging from very fair to medium/dark. My perfect match is Ivory. The foundation feels incredibly light on the skin, blends seamlessly and gives you a subtle dewy finish. The texture feels runnier than most foundations, including Wake Me Up from Rimmel. It takes a little time to dry and set into place. Coverage is light to medium, it does a good job at evening out the complexion but not full enough to hide those stubborn blemishes or acne scars. You’ll still need a concealer after that.

The foundation lasts for most part of the day, but I find that since it's much thinner than the Wake Me Up foundation, I do need a little touch up mid-way through the day. And as we're having the winter season here in Dubai, this has worked very well so far. I recommend this if you're having dry, normal or combination skin types. If you have a particularly oily T-zone, you will need a setting powder to control the extra shine.

Final verdict: Good for dry or combination skin. It gives you a natural, light coverage with a dewy finish. Lasts for 7 - 8 hours when used with the primer and set with powder.

Fix & Protect Makeup Primer with SPF 25
For just AED 41 every other month, this is worth all the money! Personally, I'm a firm believer in priming and prepping your face before applying the foundation. And I must admit, this was very different from the primers I have used earlier. It had an unexpectedly runny texture and a pearl white tint. On application, this was surprisingly easy to blend, absorbed very well into the skin and felt moisturizing. What makes this special is how it gives your face a layer of protection with SPF 25, it acts like an invisible shield. My dry skin loves it! It brightens up your complexion, gives a nice sheen, but does not really minimize the appearance of your pores. I enjoy using this underneath the foundation during the day and no, it does not leave a prominent white cast (not sure why I was so worried about that, haha!)
