CK2 | Fragrance REVIEW

Calvin Klein's latest fragrance offering, CK2 has hit the shelves and we're obsessing about it already! Described as a scent that "embodies the thrill of life and celebrates the diversity of connections between two people", ck2 strikes an interesting balance of peppery spice, floral, stone and woody notes.

Fragrance Notes:

Top Notes: Wasabi, Mandarin, Violet Leaf Absolute
Heart Notes: Wet Cobblestones, Orris Concrete, Rose Absolute
Base Notes: Vetiver, Incense, Sandalwood

Marketed as an urban woody, "gender-free" fragrance, with fresh, realistic aquatic notes. I get wasabi, pebble, rose and vetiver notes the most. The opening is rather sharp and intense, the dry down is more floral and powdery. This gets better once it's left on the skin for an hour or so.

The scent evokes memories of salty ocean breeze and takes you on a walk down the sea shore with the earthy, mineral scent of wet pebbles. The bottle design is equally intriguing - vaguely resembling a thick, clear glass test tube and the solid square cap that also serves as a unit to hold the bottle upside down on your vanity desk.

My first impression on the perfume would suggest that the brisk woody notes in the fragrance makes this more of a 'masculine' scent, but needless to say, the soft powdery dry-down is both delectable and hard to miss! The fragrance lasts 7 hours on my skin, and has good sillage and medium projection.

Available at all leading perfumeries across United Arab Emirates, with prices starting between AED 230 for 50 mL and AED 305 for 100 mL.
