Himalaya Cocoa Butter Cream | Review

Body butters and lotions are imperative when it comes to my skincare stash. I’ve got an entire range of butter creams that I use during the day or as a part of my night-time skincare routine.

While processed-chocolate tastes appealing and curbs our sugar cravings, cocoa has benefits beyond its rich indulging taste and texture. Being rich in flavanols (a class of flavonoids, antioxidants) it exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-platelet effects if consumed in moderate proportions. Raw cocoa contains magnesium (the de-stressor mineral), vitamin C, serotonin and dopamine.

Like other healthy sources of fatty acids (coconut oil and shea butter) – it works wonders in healing dry, chapped and sensitive skin. It’s also been widely used for the prevention of stretch marks both during and post-pregnancy. Cocoa butter on its own is edible and it smells just like your favorite chocolate bar! ;)

What makes cocoa butter a favorite among most pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, is its high concentration of skin-friendly antioxidants, soothing agents and omega fats which also aids in building a better skin barrier.

Last week I was invited to participate in the 7-day Himalaya #NourishwithCocoa challenge where all participating bloggers and media partners received an exclusive hamper basket with specific instructions and scheduled tasks assigned for each day. From chocolates to cocoa powder - this campaign has been rather a sweet one! :)

This is a product I'd definitely recommend to those with sensitive, dry skin. Though the texture is creamy, it gets absorbed quickly into the skin and does not feel sticky or greasy after application. This would make it a wonderful addition to your night time skincare routines! J
